Glas en keramiek kunnen veel hebben. Hout en bamboe vragen om een zachtere hand.

Alleen met de hand afwassen: De keramische inzet en de bamboe ring overleven de vaatwasser niet. Warm water en een zachte spons voor alles.
Droog de bamboe ring af: Vocht dat onder de ring blijft zitten, laat bamboe na verloop van tijd kromtrekken. Haal hem eraf en droog hem na elke afwas apart af.
Voorkom thermische schokken: Giet geen kokend water rechtstreeks op koud glas. Verwarm de pot eerst voor met warm water, vooral in de winter.
Houten deksel van de theebus: Afnemen met een licht vochtige doek. Wrijf om de paar maanden een druppel minerale olie van voedselkwaliteit in het hout om barsten te voorkomen.
Keramisch filter: Spoel het na elke trekronde om. Looistoffen uit thee kleuren keramiek na verloop van tijd; dat is puur cosmetisch, geen functioneel probleem. Laat het weken in een oplossing van baking soda om vlekken lichter te maken.
