Care & maintenance

Electronics and water do not mix, but the silicone pad does the hard work.

  • Wipe, do not soak: The platform is waterproof, the scale body is not. Wipe spills immediately with a damp cloth, never submerge.
  • Remove the silicone pad: It lifts off for washing. Rinse under warm water, dry fully before replacing.
  • Calibrate occasionally: If readings drift, recalibrate using a known weight (a coin, a calibration weight). Check the manual for the button sequence.
  • Keep it level: An uneven surface skews the sensor. Place the scale on a flat counter, away from vibrations.

Frequently asked

How accurate is 0.1g for coffee?

Accurate enough for pour-over, French press, and espresso dosing. A tenth of a gram is the standard resolution for brew scales.

Can I use the timer and scale at the same time?

Yes. Press start/stop to begin the timer while weighing. The LED displays both weight and elapsed time, so you can track bloom timing, pour intervals, and total brew duration without a second device.

What does the tare function do?

Tare zeroes the scale with a container or dripper already on the platform. Place your vessel, press tare, add coffee or water, the display shows only the added weight, not the container. Essential for accurate dosing.

Is the silicone pad necessary?

No, but it is useful. The pad protects the sensor platform from scratches and spills, and it grips the vessel so it does not slide during pouring. You can brew without it, but cleaning is easier with it.

Why does the scale turn off by itself?

Auto-off conserves battery. If the scale detects no weight change for a set period (usually 2–3 minutes), it powers down. Turn it back on, or disable auto-off if your model allows.
