Stainless steel forgives almost everything. Silicone seals need occasional attention.
- Hand wash recommended: Warm soapy water, soft sponge. The wide mouth makes it easy to reach inside. The vacuum seal can fail if the mug goes through a dishwasher too often.
- Clean the silicone gasket: Once a week, remove the gasket from the lid and rinse separately. Coffee oils accumulate there and eventually smell stale.
- Dry fully before closing: Trapped moisture breeds odor. Leave the lid off between uses.
- No microwave: Stainless steel and microwaves are incompatible. Reheat your coffee on the stove or in a separate vessel.
- Stubborn stains: A paste of baking soda and water removes coffee residue without scratching the steel.
