Blade grinder = uneven cup

You dialed in the same beans, the same water, and still the cup came out muddy one morning and thin the next.

Blade grinders chop beans into a chaos of dust and boulders, and that scatter is what turns one cup bitter and the next flat. The Diamond Manual Grinder ends the guesswork: hardened conical steel burrs crush each bean to one size, and a click dial steps the setting in 0.08 mm increments, so the grind you found is the grind you keep. A bearing-stabilized shaft holds the burrs true turn after turn. Espresso to pour-over, you set it once and the cup stops surprising you.

One grind size. Every single cup.

Why you will reach for it every morning

A burr grinder that looks as good on the counter as it grinds in the hand.

  • True conical burrs, not blades: Hardened stainless steel cones crush beans to an even particle size. No scorching, no dust-and-boulders. Flatter cups, cleaner extraction.
  • Dial in any brew: 12 clicks per rotation at 0.08 mm per click. Tight enough for espresso, open enough for French press, repeatable every time.
  • Magnetic crank snaps on and off: Pull the handle free for travel or a drawer, snap it back with one hand. No threads to line up.
  • All-metal body that lasts: Machined aluminum with a three-dimensional diamond facet. Won't rust, won't flex, ages well.
  • Quiet, grid-free, plug-free: Grind beside a sleeping house or in a cabin off-grid. Just you and the crank.

Care & maintenance

Metal forgives mistakes. Burrs demand attention.

  • Brush after every grind: A small stiff brush clears retained grounds from the burrs and the catch cup. Oils turn rancid if left inside.
  • Deep clean monthly: Take apart the three sections, rinse burrs and chamber under warm water, air-dry fully. The aluminum body wipes clean with a damp cloth.
  • Check the center shaft: Every few months, twist the dial through its full range. If you feel grit or resistance, rinse and dry the shaft so it spins freely again.
  • Burr longevity: Hardened steel burrs dull slowly and stay sharp through years of daily grinding.
  • Wood knob care: Wipe with a barely damp cloth. Once or twice a year, rub a drop of food-grade mineral oil into the wood to prevent cracking.

Frequently asked

How do I adjust the grind size?

Turn the click dial at the base of the burr chamber. Each rotation has 12 clicks and each click shifts the grind by about 0.08 mm. Tighten for espresso, open up for pour-over and French press.

What is the difference between black and silver?

Both share the same burrs, the same dial, the same aluminum body. Black is matte and modern, silver is brighter and shows the metal grain. Pick the one that fits your counter.

Can it grind fine enough for espresso?

Yes. The conical steel burrs and 0.08 mm click steps let you dial in an espresso grind. Expect roughly 40 to 60 seconds of cranking for a double shot, depending on your pace.

How many beans fit inside?

About 1 oz (25 to 30 g), enough for two large mugs or a couple of espresso doubles. Grind what you brew and the rest stays fresh in the bag.

Why a magnetic handle?

Magnets let you pull the crank off instantly for storage or travel, with no threads to unscrew. The connection is solid enough to grind and loose enough to pull free with one hand.
