Digital coffee scale · LED display · Timer · 0.1g precision · Silicone mat

An LED display, a timer, a tray sized for a 16 oz mug. The Studio Timer Scale is what sits next to the gooseneck, visible from across the counter, accurate from the first gram.

The Studio Timer Scale is a compact digital coffee scale with a built-in timer and LED display. Weighs up to 105 oz (3000 g) in 0.01 oz (0.3 g) increments, tracks brew time to the second, includes a waterproof silicone mat.

Care & maintenance

Electronics and water are not friends, but the silicone mat helps.

  • Wipe, do not soak: Damp cloth on the platform, dry immediately. The LED screen is not waterproof, keep liquid away from the edges.
  • Use the silicone mat: It catches drips and spills before they reach the scale body. Rinse the mat under the tap, let it air dry.
  • Calibrate occasionally: If the readout drifts, recalibrate with a known weight (instructions in the manual). Once every few months is enough.
  • Store flat: Stacking heavy items on the platform can damage the sensors. Keep it on the counter or in a drawer, nothing on top.
  • Charge before it dies: The battery lasts weeks, but recharge before it hits zero to extend its lifespan.

Frequently asked

How accurate is it?

Precise to 0.01 oz (0.3 g), which is enough for pour-over, French press, and most espresso work. It will not replace a $500 lab scale, but it handles daily coffee brewing without drift.

Can the timer run independently?

Yes. Press the timer button to start or stop it without affecting the weight readout. Both functions run simultaneously on the same screen.

What is the tare function?

Tare resets the display to zero with a container on the platform. Place your carafe, press tare, then pour, the scale only counts the liquid weight, not the vessel.

Is the silicone mat necessary?

No, but it protects the scale from drips and spills, especially with pour-over brewing. It also grips the dripper so it does not slide. Rinse it under the tap, let it air dry.

How long does the battery last?

About two to three weeks with daily use. The auto-off function kicks in after a few minutes of inactivity to save power. Recharge via USB when the battery icon blinks.
