Care & maintenance
Electronics and water are enemies, but coffee scales live near both.
- Wipe, don't wash: Use a barely damp cloth on the platform and base. Never submerge or rinse under running water.
- Dry spills immediately: Coffee, milk, water, all can seep into the sensor gaps and short the circuit. A quick wipe saves the scale.
- Calibrate occasionally: Place a known weight (a bag of coffee, a cup of water weighed elsewhere) and check the reading. If it drifts, recalibrate per the manual.
- Battery swap: Replace both AAA batteries at the same time. Mismatched battery ages cause erratic readings.

What is the tare function?
Tare resets the scale to zero with a container already on it, so you weigh only the contents. Place your mug, press tare, pour coffee, the display shows only the liquid weight.
How does the timer work?
Press the timer button to start, press again to stop. The timer runs independently of the weight display, so you can track brew time and dose at the same time. The timer resets with a long press.
Can I switch between grams and ounces mid-brew?
Yes. Press the unit button to toggle. The scale remembers the last unit used, so if you always brew in grams, you won't need to toggle every time.
What is 0.1 g resolution?
The scale measures in tenths of a gram, precise enough for pour-over, espresso dosing, or French press ratios. It won't split micrograms, but for coffee, 0.1 g is more than sufficient.
Does it auto-off?
Yes. After a few minutes of inactivity, the scale powers down to save battery. Just press the on/off button to wake it.
