Care & maintenance

Ceramic burrs hold their edge for years. Coffee oils still build up on the chambers and threads.

  • After each grind: Tap the grounds out, brush the burr chamber with a soft brush.
  • Weekly: Disassemble the grinder, brush all chambers and burrs, wipe with a dry cloth.
  • Avoid: Water on the burrs and the wood body. Wash only the hopper and ground cup if removable.
  • Wood care: Occasional food-safe oil keeps the wooden parts in shape.

Frequently asked

Ceramic vs steel burrs, what is the difference?

Ceramic burrs grind cooler than steel, less heat means less aroma loss in the grounds. They also resist wear longer, holding their cut for years of daily use. Steel burrs are slightly faster but transfer more heat to the beans.

Can it grind for espresso and French press?

Yes. The internal adjustment ring sets the grind size from fine espresso to coarse French press. Click the ring to find your spot, mark it for repeatability.

How many beans fit in the hopper?

350 ml of whole beans, around 80 to 100 grams depending on the bean density. That covers a couple of mornings of brewing without refilling.

Is it noisy?

Quiet. Manual grinders make a low mechanical hum, a tenth the noise of an electric burr grinder. Pleasant in a calm kitchen, kid-safe in the early morning.

How long to grind enough for one pour-over?

Around 60 seconds for 25 to 30 grams, the dose for one cup of pour-over or a full press. Good rhythm, no rush.
