Boiling blind, every morning.

You lift the lid again, squinting for steam, because your kettle never tells you when the water is actually ready.

An opaque kettle keeps you guessing, hovering, second-guessing the pour. The Sentinel ends that the moment you look at it. Its high borosilicate body lets you watch the rolling boil rise, lit by a blue ring, while 1500 watts brings a full pour over in roughly four to six minutes. Because the water meets only glass and a stainless base, nothing plastic stands between the boil and your cup. Mornings become quieter. You see the water is ready, lift the cordless base, and pour.

See the boil before it reaches the cup.

Why coffee people reach for it

  • See the boil happen. Clear borosilicate plus a blue LED means you watch the water come to temperature instead of guessing. Lift the moment it rolls.
  • Pure-tasting water. Glass holds no flavor and no residue, so each batch tastes like water and nothing else. Ideal for pour-over, French press, and tea.
  • Fast and hands-off. 1500 watts brings a full kettle to a boil in minutes, then auto shut-off cuts power the instant it gets there. Boil-dry protection guards an empty kettle too.
  • Built for the daily ritual. A cordless base lifts off for a clean pour and easy refills, and the spout filter keeps scale where it belongs.

Care & maintenance

Glass shows everything: scale, fingerprints, coffee oils. Rinse it often, descale it monthly.

  • Descale monthly: Fill halfway with equal parts water and white vinegar, boil, let sit 15 minutes, rinse three times. Hard water leaves mineral deposits that cloud the glass and slow the boil.
  • Wipe the exterior: A damp microfiber cloth removes fingerprints. The glass resists thermal shock, but do not plunge it into cold water while still hot.
  • Clean the filter: The mesh filter in the spout traps scale particles. Pop it out once a week, rinse under warm water, replace.
  • Base care: Wipe the power base with a barely damp cloth. Never submerge it, the electrical contacts can corrode.

Frequently asked

Why does the glass glow blue?

The blue LED lights while the kettle is actively heating and switches off at the boil. It is both a visual cue and a small piece of counter theater while you wait.

Does it automatically shut off?

Yes. The kettle shuts off once the water reaches a rolling boil. Lift it from the base mid-boil and the heating stops. Switch it on empty and the boil-dry sensor cuts power before any damage occurs.

How long does a full boil take?

About four to six minutes for the full 57 fl oz, depending on your starting water temperature. Boil a smaller amount for a single pour-over and it is quicker still.

What is borosilicate glass?

Borosilicate is a low-expansion glass that handles heat well and resists thermal shock better than ordinary soda-lime glass. It holds no flavor, so your water tastes clean every time.

Can I use it for tea?

Yes. It brings water to a full boil with no temperature presets, so for green or white tea let the water rest 30 to 60 seconds after the boil to settle to around 175°F. Black tea and herbal infusions can go straight from the pour.
