Care & maintenance
Steel burrs clean easily. Wood wipes down, metal rinses off.
- Weekly burr brush: Disassemble the grind chamber once a week and brush out the residue with a dry brush. Coffee oils build up and go rancid, affecting flavor.
- Monthly deep clean: Remove the burr set, rinse under warm water, dry completely before reassembling. Never soak, the threading can corrode.
- Wood care: Wipe the wooden parts with a barely damp cloth. Once or twice a year, rub a drop of food-safe mineral oil to prevent drying or cracking.
- Metal body: The matte finish hides fingerprints well, but a soft cloth keeps it clean. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, they dull the finish.
Frequently asked
How many cups does 30 grams make?
About two standard cups at 15 grams per cup, or one strong 10-ounce mug. Enough for a morning pour-over or a double espresso shot.
What grind settings does it handle?
Turkish fine to French press coarse. The stepless dial lets you land anywhere in between, espresso, pour-over, Aeropress, moka, cold brew. No clicks, just rotation.
Why the long crank handle?
Leverage. A longer arm reduces the effort per rotation, especially on finer grinds. The curve also keeps your knuckles clear of the body while cranking.
Which finish should I choose?
Black & Walnut is modern and warm. Black & Mahogany leans darker and richer. Walnut Crown is lighter wood tone paired with polished metal. Ivory Crown is the brightest option. Mahogany & Onyx is deep and dramatic.
Can I travel with it?
Yes. The cylindrical shape packs well in a bag, and the 30-gram capacity covers a morning's worth of coffee. Just empty the grounds chamber before packing, residual coffee moisture can cause mold in transit.
