Care & maintenance
Wooden grinders need dry care. Water and wood do not get along.
- After each grind: Empty the drawer, brush out the burrs.
- Weekly: Disassemble carefully, brush every chamber, no water on the wood.
- Wood care: Wipe the body with a soft dry cloth, occasional food-safe oil keeps the wood in shape.
- Storage: Empty the hopper if not in regular use, beans stale faster in the closed wooden body.
Frequently asked
How many cups per fill?
100 g of beans makes around four to five cups of pour-over or three full French presses at 1:15 ratio. Hopper holds a few mornings of grinding without refilling.
What is the difference between Red A and Red B?
Both are red wooden finishes, slightly different shades. Red A is closer to mahogany, Red B leans toward burgundy. Stocks vary, the body construction is identical.
Vintage style, modern performance?
Yes. The look is classic 19th century coffee mill, the burrs and bearings are modern stainless steel. Old shape, current grind quality.
Where is the grind size adjustment?
Internal, accessed by removing the hopper. The vintage style does not show external dials, keeping the silhouette clean and traditional.
Drawer or cup at the bottom?
A small drawer at the base catches the grounds. Pull the drawer out to dose your beans, slide it back in. The drawer is sized for a couple of doses.
