Care & maintenance
Electric grinders need a periodic burr cleanout to keep the cut sharp.
- After each grind: Brush the burr chamber and ground catch with the included brush.
- Weekly: Run a grinder cleaning tablet through the burrs to dissolve oils and residue.
- Monthly: Disassemble the burrs, vacuum the inside of the housing, brush the threads.
- Avoid: Water in the housing, soap on the burrs. Dry brushing only.
Frequently asked
Conical vs blade grinder, why does it matter?
Conical burrs cut beans evenly into uniform particles. Blade grinders chop them, producing a mix of fine and coarse pieces that brews unevenly. Conical is the specialty coffee standard.
How long does it take per dose?
Around 15 to 20 seconds for a single cup dose, 30 seconds for a French press batch. The motor cycles fast, the burrs are the bottleneck.
Does it grind for espresso?
Yes, the conical burrs cover the espresso fine range to French press coarse range. Set the dial, lock the dose, brew.
Anti-clog, how does it work?
The grinder includes a self-clearing mechanism that prevents grounds from packing in the chute. After each cycle, a short reverse pulse clears the path so the next dose pours cleanly.
Loud or quiet?
Electric grinders are loud, around 70 decibels for the brief grind cycle. Plan around a kettle-level sound burst per pour.
