Care & maintenance

Non-stick Teflon interiors are forgiving but not indestructible. Rinse after every use, wipe gently, no abrasives.

  • Hand wash only: Warm soapy water, soft cloth or sponge. The non-stick coating scratches easily under abrasive pads or harsh scrubbers.
  • Rinse the whisk separately: Milk residue hardens quickly on metal. Rinse the whisk attachment under warm water immediately after each use.
  • Wipe the exterior: The double-wall stainless steel body stays cool to the touch. Wipe with a damp cloth, no need to submerge the base.
  • Check the lid gasket: Over time, the silicone seal weakens. Replace it when it no longer seals tightly or starts to deform.

Frequently asked

What is the difference between heating capacity and frothing capacity?

Frothing doubles the volume of milk through aeration. The chamber needs headroom to avoid overflow. Fill to 160 ml for frothing, 350 ml for heating without foam.

How do I switch between functions?

Press the button once for hot foam, twice for cold foam, three times for steamed milk without foam, four times for hot chocolate mode. The indicator light changes color with each mode.

Can I use non-dairy milk?

Yes. Oat milk and barista blends froth best. Almond and coconut milk produce thinner foam due to lower protein content. Soy milk foams well but can curdle at high heat, use the cold foam mode instead.

What voltage do I need?

American Standard is 110V for US outlets. British and European Standards are both 220V but have different plug types, British uses a three-prong UK plug, European uses a two-prong EU plug.

How long does it take to froth milk?

Hot foam takes about 90 seconds. Cold foam finishes in 60 seconds. Steamed milk without foam is ready in 2 minutes. The machine shuts off automatically when the cycle completes.

What is the inside coated with?

A non-stick Teflon liner inside a 304 stainless steel body. Hand wash it with a soft sponge, since abrasive pads scratch the coating.

How hot does it get the milk?

Between 60 and 70 °C, warm enough for a latte or cappuccino. It shuts off on its own when the cycle ends.

Electric jug frother vs handheld frother: which should I get?

A jug frother like this one heats and froths in one go, makes cold foam too, and stops on its own, so you can walk away. A handheld wand only froths, so you heat the milk separately. For hands-free hot and cold foam, the jug is the easier choice.

Can I make hot chocolate or warm milk with my French press setup?

You can froth warm milk in a French press by pumping the plunger, but an electric frother is easier. The Le Maestro Milk Frother has four functions: hot foam, cold foam, steamed milk and hot chocolate, in 304 stainless steel with a non-stick interior. For a simple wand, the Barista Milk Frother is cordless and USB-C rechargeable.

Can I steam milk without an espresso machine?

Yes. The Le Maestro Milk Frother has a steamed-milk mode (about 2 minutes) without foam, plus hot foam, cold foam and hot chocolate, in 304 stainless steel with a non-stick interior. A handheld wand like the Barista Milk Frother foams milk you have warmed yourself.

How do I get café-style milk foam at home?

Start with cold whole milk or a barista oat milk, heat it to about 60 to 70 °C, and froth until it roughly doubles, then tap and swirl to break big bubbles. The Le Maestro Milk Frother does the heating and frothing in its 60 to 70 °C range. With a wand, the Atelier Twin Frother uses a spring coil for tight microfoam.

Which milk frother do you recommend for cappuccino at home?

For thick cappuccino foam with no effort, the Le Maestro Milk Frother heats and froths milk in about 90 seconds and stops on its own. For a simple handheld, the Barista Milk Frother: cordless, USB-C rechargeable, 3 speeds, 304 stainless steel whisk, foam in about 20 to 30 seconds. The Atelier Twin Frother adds a second whisk for lighter foam.

Can I froth cold milk for iced lattes?

Yes. The Le Maestro Milk Frother has a dedicated cold foam setting (about 60 seconds). Handheld wands like the Barista Milk Frother also foam cold milk, with a bit less volume than warm. Serve it in the Tempo Glass Mug with bamboo lid and glass straw.
