Stainless steel · Dual-ended · Scoop & tamper · One tool

A scoop on one end, a tamper on the other. Stainless steel, double-ended. The Precision Dual lives next to the grinder, it doses, it presses, it does no more than that, and does it cleanly.

The Precision Dual Scoop is a stainless steel dual-ended coffee tool: measuring scoop on one end, flat tamper on the other. One piece, no moving parts, no joints to loosen.

Care & maintenance

Stainless steel forgives almost everything, but hand washing keeps the brushed finish cleaner longer.

  • Hand wash preferred: Warm soapy water and a soft cloth. The dishwasher works, but it dulls the brushed finish over time.
  • Dry immediately: Water spots form on stainless steel if left to air-dry. A quick towel wipe keeps the surface spotless.
  • Coffee oil buildup: If residue accumulates in the scoop bowl, soak in warm soapy water for five minutes, then scrub gently with a soft brush.
  • Tamper care: Wipe the flat end after each use. Ground coffee compresses into the edges, a damp cloth removes it before it hardens.

Frequently asked

What is the scoop size?

About one tablespoon, or roughly 7–8 grams of medium-grind coffee. A standard single dose for pour-over or French press. For espresso, two scoops fill most portafilters.

Will the tamper fit my portafilter?

The tamper end is about 1.2 inches in diameter, it fits smaller single-shot baskets and moka pot baskets, but it is too narrow for standard 2.5 in espresso portafilters.

Can I use it for tea?

Yes. The scoop measures loose-leaf tea just as well as coffee grounds. The tamper end is less useful for tea, but the scoop alone earns its place.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes, but hand washing preserves the brushed finish better. The dishwasher works, it just dulls the steel faster.

Why dual-ended instead of two separate tools?

One motion instead of two. Scoop the dose, flip, tamp level, done. Two tools mean two places to store, two things to wash, two handles to reach for. This puts the sequence in one hand.
