Care & maintenance

Glass and ceramic are forgiving. Wood and bamboo need gentler hands.

  • Hand wash only: The ceramic liner and bamboo ring do not survive the dishwasher. Warm water and a soft sponge for everything.
  • Dry the bamboo ring: Moisture trapped under the ring warps bamboo over time. Remove it, dry it separately after each wash.
  • Avoid thermal shock: Do not pour boiling water directly onto cold glass. Preheat the pot with warm water first, especially in winter.
  • Wood canister lid: Wipe with a barely damp cloth. Once every few months, rub a drop of food-grade mineral oil to keep the wood from cracking.
  • Ceramic filter: Rinse after each steep. Tea tannins stain ceramic over time, it is cosmetic, not functional. Soak in baking soda solution to lighten stains.

Frequently asked

Is this set suitable for personal use or only corporate gifting?

Both. It was designed as a corporate gift, the journal and pen make it a complete desk ritual set, but the pot and cups are high-quality enough for daily personal use. The packaging is reusable, so the set travels well.

How does the ceramic filter work?

The ceramic liner sits inside the glass pot and holds the tea leaves. As you pour, the liner lifts out with the leaves still inside, no strainer needed, no leaves in the cup.

What is the mountain-shaped design at the bottom?

A Chinese aesthetic reference to mountain peaks, Guan Shan. It is molded into the glass base of the pot, a visual detail that elevates the set beyond purely functional.

Which color should I choose?

White is clean and traditional. Black is modern and subdued. Green is calm, meditative. Blue is the classic Chinese tea-ceremony color. The tea tastes the same; the shelf presence is yours.

Can the glass pot handle boiling water?

Yes, but preheat it first with warm water if the pot is cold. Direct boiling water into cold glass risks thermal shock and cracking. Once the glass is warm, it handles boiling water without issue.
